Argillite Wasco and Thunderbird Totem Pole

SOLD This Argillite Pole carved by the Haida Master Carver Rufus Moody in 1971, features a Wasco or Sea Wolf on the top that has a Whale in it's mouth. The Wasco is also holding a Whale with it's tail. Below the Wasco there is a Thunderbird with the curved beak holding a Whale in it's claws. This argillite pole is 7 1/4 inches high including the base. The pole is up to 1 1/2 inches wide and 1 3/4 inches deep. The base is a little over 2 1/2 inches wide and 2 5/8 inches deep. The argillite carving weighs a little over 1.3 pounds or 600 grams. As you can see in the images the pole has small chips on the back left corner of the base as well as on the the top of the Wasco's head, otherwise it is in excellent condition.
