The Sculpin is a widespread family crest that is used by families from the Haida Nation, the Kwakwaka´wakw, Kwakiutl or Kwaguilth People as well as families from other West Coast Nations. The Sculpin is closely associated with Komokwa, the King of the Undersea World and has an affinity to copper as well as treasures. Representations of the Sculpin will often be seen in dances during the winter ceremonies.
